About the project

The core objective of PeerPower is to improve researcher well-being, enhance peer mentoring, and advance digital learning within Early Career Researcher (ECR) education. The project addresses critical challenges faced by ECRs, including high stress levels, social isolation, burnout, a lack of structured peer support, limited access to open educational resources, and underutilization of AI and digital tools in research training.

Therefore PeerPower aims to establish peer-lead communities and deliver a range of specific actions to enhance researcher well-being, peer mentoring, and digital learning for Early Career Researchers (ECRs) across Europe:

  • 50+ trained ambassadors.
  • establish 50+ sustainable peer-support communities.
  • Support of 1,000+ researchers.
  • develop 10+ open-access courses.
  • AI-driven learning through eDoer.
  • Mental health awareness integrated into ECR training.
  • 10+ universities will adopt PeerPower’s framework.

The German National Library of Science and Technology functions as the applicant and lead organization for the PeerPower project. TIB's experience as coordinator of previous Erasmus+ projects like OSCAR and the ReMO COST Action, which also leveraged AI for researcher well-being and training, provides a strong foundation for its leadership in PeerPower. The strategic task distribution within the consortium ensures that TIB's expertise in AI-driven learning and digital infrastructure is maximized, contributing significantly to the project's scalability, accessibility, and long-term impact on ECR education and well-being across Europe.
