Metadata is the foundation for additional services and associated benefits. They describe objects and provide contextual information. In order for metadata to unfold its full potential, it is necessary to standardize metadata schemas and use them consistently.

Due to the high importance of metadata quality, we are involved in various projects that focus on compliance with metadata standards to improve various metadata, including the continuous development of the DataCite metadata schema, the EASYDAB quality guidelines, participation in the ROR Advisory Group or advising members of the TIB DOI Consortium on optimizing their DOI metadata.
